The Problem
When solving business problems, owners and managers often rely on appliance apps, enterprise systems, or a combination of the two. On one hand, the task-focused apps do one thing well (e.g. email, calendar, file-sharing), but they are often limited and not customizable. At the other end of the spectrum, large scale systems manage critical tasks in the enterprises (e.g. ERP), but they are costly and require programming expertise. If the new year has shown us anything, organizations must be able to quickly adapt to changes in the workplace, and both appliance apps and enterprise systems do not lend themselves to that type of rapid innovation.
The Solution
It is this gap that makes a Workplace Innovation Platform indispensable to any business. By definition, a Workplace Innovation Platform helps teams of a few to a few hundred quickly solve unique problems, even as they change, by making powerful technologies accessible to everyone. It empowers problem solvers within the organization to create, share, and integrate custom apps that follow their unique business rules and workflows. It allows teams to escape the work rut and focus on innovation.
The Workplace Innovation Jumpstart workshop provides both an introduction to the leading Workplace Innovation Platform and the opportunity to put it to use. In this online training course, participants will be introduced to the available tools and then gain hands-on experience as they build a custom app to solve a common business problem. From idea to design to implementation to testing to distribution, participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed to become a Workplace Innovator for their own organizations.
The Workplace Innovation Jumpstart is led by some of the Pittsburgh area’s leading Workplace Innovators from Cross IT and ProFile Developers. The workshop spans four consecutive mornings of online instruction. Day 1 begins with the concept and Day 4 ends with a completed, functioning custom app.
The Details
Please make plans to join us on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 through Friday, June 26, 2020. The online sessions will run from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM each day and include hands-on lab segments as concepts and techniques are put to use. Participants also have the option to schedule one-on-one sessions with the instructors during the afternoon hours to ask questions and get assistance while completing each days homework assignment.
When considering the importance of innovation in the workplace, this workshop requires only the modest investment of $299 for 12 hours of instructor lead training. Optional one-on-one sessions with the instructors may be scheduled each afternoon to ask questions and get assistance.
